Anti wrinkle injections with Botulinum Toxin A (or 'Botox', as a brand name) are the most popular treatment at Life of Riley Medical Aesthetics for removal of fine lines, wrinkles and achieving that natural, refreshed look.
Treatment is quick and relatively painless, and involves a series of tiny injections into the wrinkle creating muscles to temporarily freeze muscle activity. Botox can relax dynamic wrinkles (wrinkles that appear when our muscles contract) and reduce the appearance of static lines (lines that are there when the muscle is at rest).
A consultation appointment is required prior to treatment as Botox is a prescription only medication. Anna is a registered nurse practitioner and independent prescriber, so you're in the safest of hands!

Botox is most commonly used for the relaxation of muscles in the face to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Common treatment areas include the frown, forehead, and crow's feet (lines around the eyes). It can however also be used to:
Botox is the registered name for the industry leading brand of Botulinum Toxin A. When injected, the toxin blocks the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract. This softens the appearance of static lines and removes the ability of the muscle to move and create wrinkles. Overall, this gives a smooth, softened appearance.
You may start to see results as soon as 4 or 5 days post treatment, but the full effect of treatment are expected at 14 days. If you're heading to an event in the near future, aim to schedule your treatment appointment 2 to 3 weeks prior so that you're wrinkle-free and ready to go!
Results can up to 16 weeks, however you may start to see some (but not all) movement returning around 10 weeks post initial treatment. Regular, repeated treatments help your results last longer.
After initial treatment, a review appointment will be scheduled so that Anna can assess whether the treatment goal has been achieved. If not, more toxin can be added at this point. This appointment is included in your original treatment cost.
After initial treatment, you may expect to need or want treatment again approximately 4 months later. Everyone's different though, and there are other factors that impact upon how your results last - such as sun exposure, your skin care regime, and whether you exercise regularly, for example.
At your consultation, Anna will take a full medical history from you and ensure that you are safe to proceed with treatment.
If you are currently pregnant or breastfeeding, then you are not suitable for treatment. Likewise, if you have a history of muscle weakness or neuromuscular disorder, then it is also not safe for you to proceed with treatment either. This is another reason why a consultation prior to treatment is so important!
I use a variety of brands depending upon what you are looking to achieve, the areas being treated and your age. Botox is a registered trademark product and 'industry leading', and I use this as well as Bocouture and Azzalure. All have relatively comparable results, but again this depends on the factors listed above.
I always do consultations in person so that I can assess your face thoroughly and talk through your concerns properly. Your consultation fee is £25 paid at the time of booking, but is redeemable off your total treatment cost.
Once we have agreed a treatment plan at consultation, we can proceed with treatment only days later.
